Buy with COD Button

The Buy with COD button lets customers order cash on delivery straight from your product page. They tap the button, fill in their name, phone, and address in a popup, and the order is placed — no full checkout needed.

Because the customer orders through Level, we can run your fraud checks before the order exists. Blocked phones, emails, and IP addresses never make it into your Shopify orders list.

Why use it

• Fewer fake orders. Blocked buyers and repeat abusers are stopped before the order is created — including by IP address, which regular Shopify checkout cannot check.
• Less drop-off. COD buyers skip the multi-step checkout. One popup, one tap, done.
• Everything else stays the same. The order lands in Shopify like any other order, and the customer gets the usual WhatsApp confirmation.

Turn it on

It takes two steps — one in Level, one in your Shopify theme.

1. Enable the form in Level

1. Open COD verification → Settings in app.uselevel.ai .
2. Find the Level COD order form card and turn it on.

2. Add the button to your theme

1. In the same card, click Enable Buy with COD in theme. This opens the Shopify theme editor on the App embeds panel.
2. Turn on Level Buy with COD.
3. Click Save.

The button now appears near Add to cart on your product pages, automatically styled to match your theme.

If the link doesn’t work, you can do it manually: in Shopify Admin, go to Online Store → Themes → Customize → App embeds, enable Level Buy with COD, and save.

Using multiple themes? The embed is saved per theme. If you publish a new theme later, enable the embed again there.

What your customer sees

1. They tap Buy with COD on a product page.
2. A popup asks for their name, phone number, address, city, PIN code, and (optionally) email.
3. They tap Place COD order. The order is created in Shopify right away.
4. They get a WhatsApp message asking them to confirm the order — the same verification flow as any other COD order.

Prices in the popup and the WhatsApp message use the currency your customer shops in — if your store sells in multiple currencies, an Indian customer sees ₹, not your store’s base currency.

What gets checked before the order

When the customer submits the form, Level checks your Risk & blocklists settings:

• Blocked phone numbers and emails
• Blocked IP addresses
• Order limits — too many COD orders from the same phone or IP in a short window
• The shared risk network, if you’ve opted in

If anything matches, the customer sees a polite message that COD isn’t available, and no order is created.

Hiding the regular Buy it now button

If you want COD buyers to always go through the Level form, the app embed settings in the theme editor include an option to hide Shopify’s Buy it now button on product pages. Add to cart and regular checkout keep working as usual.

Troubleshooting

The button doesn’t appear on product pages

• Check the Level COD order form toggle is on in Level settings.
• Check the Level Buy with COD app embed is enabled on your published theme, and you clicked Save in the theme editor.
• The button shows on product pages only, and requires an Online Store 2.0 theme (most modern themes are).

Customers see “COD is not available” when they shouldn’t

• Check your blocklists and order limits under Risk & blocklists — their phone, email, or IP may be matching a rule.
