Your First COD Verification

This guide walks through verifying a COD order from placement to customer confirmation.

Before you start

• Level is installed and Shopify is connected
• COD is enabled on your store
• You have a phone number with WhatsApp for testing

Steps

1. Place a test COD order

On your Shopify storefront, complete checkout using Cash on Delivery as the payment method. Use a real mobile number that has WhatsApp installed.

2. Check Level dashboard

Open COD verification  in the Level app. Your order should appear with status Pending within a minute.

3. Customer receives WhatsApp

The customer gets a WhatsApp message with Confirm and Cancel buttons. No OTP or link to open — they tap a button directly in WhatsApp.

4. Customer confirms

When the customer taps Confirm:

• Order status in Level changes to Verified
• Shopify order gets the level-cod-verified tag and a note
• Customer may receive a thank-you message (if configured)

5. Fulfillment

Filter orders in Shopify by the level-cod-verified tag before shipping. See Shopify tags.

If nothing happens

• Confirm the order payment method is COD — see COD not detected
• Check Messages not sending
• Ensure verification is enabled — see Per-product toggle
